With two weeks left in the school year, students at Washington Middle School are trying to reach a fundraising goal to help a local girl get a play set through Kids for Wish Kids. Through the program, students in the middle school’s Builders Club are raising $3,000 for a Washington girl named Kamille who is battling a digestive system disease. Principal Curt Mayer tells KCII News that $568 was raised Friday in part due to their hat day, where students could pay $2 to wear a hat at school. He says they’re Wish Meter now reads $1,577.63 raised. Community members who want to give are asked to contact Mayer at the middle school.
