The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track team was in action at Thursday’s River Valley Conference Track meet at West Branch High School.
The Golden Hawk boys finished in fourth place in the 14 team field with 66 points. Monticello won the conference team title with 131 points. Mid-Prairie captured two conference titles on the night, both in throwing events from Golden Hawk standout Levi Duwa. Duwa won the discus with his throw of 160’9″. He was also the RVC champ in the shot put where he set a new school record with a throw of 57’5″.
Other top finishes for the Golden Hawks included The Mid-Prairie 4×800 team of Luke Sigler, Andrew Schwartz, Brent Foster and Peyton Miller finishing as runners-up with their time of 8:23.61 and the 4×400 team of Cary Schaefer, Quinn Schmidt, Brent Foster and Peyton Miller finishing fifth in 3:35.21.
The Golden Hawks will next be in action Thursday when they travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg for the district track meet.
