There is a way to prevent the most common type of cancer in the United States – use sunscreen. Administrator of Washington County Public Health, Danielle Pettit-Majewski recommends using a broad spectrum sunscreen to block both UV A and UV B rays with an SPF of at least 15. She adds be sure to cover all of your exposed skin with the lotion, including the backs of your ears and the tops of your feet, and under your swim suit straps as they can move when you’re at the pool. Remember to reapply sunscreen every couple of hours. For more summer skin care information listen to the full interview with Pettit-Majewski at KCIIRadio.com.
