Approximately 30 Washington High School students will be in costumes and makeup, singing and dancing this weekend for their spring musical. This year the school is performing Beauty and the Beast.

Senior cast members Gracie Cleverly who plays Babette the feather duster, Zoe Wagner who plays Belle and Cale Rausch, this weekend’s Beast, share it’s been hard work to get their characters ready for the production. Rausch says it’s tough to portray someone who is mean, angry, sad and desperate throughout the show, while on the other hand Wagner says it’s a change for her to play a bubbly, princess character.

Beauty and the Beast is directed by retiring Washington High School teacher Lynn Loula. The musical will be on the stage Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Washington Community Center. Hear the full Washington Page interview with the cast members and Loula here.
