The legal process for a possible referendum for the YMCA, RAGBRAI plans and a change order on the court house sewer separation project will be discussed at tonight’s Washington City Council meeting. According to a memo from City Administrator Brent Hinson, it is a tight schedule to get the referendum on the ballot by August 2nd, but is possible. The YMCA is working to raise about $10.5 million for a new facility and asked earlier this month for a $3.5 million bond referendum to be voted on by the residents of the city.
Also, the council will consider the beverage garden layout and code section for RAGBRAI. A $60,780 change order on the courthouse sewer separation project will also be considered. Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. in council chambers.
