So far this April rain totals have been a fraction of the normal amount, but rain is in the forecast for this week. According to the National Weather Service, in the first 17 days of April Washington has observed four-tenths of an inch of precipitation, while 1.8 inches is normal during that time period. Also, so far this month the average temperature has been 43.9 degrees, below the normal 48.3 degrees. Looking at the year-to-date summary, precipitation is nearly half of the normal 6.72 inches.
