Efforts to raise funds for Main Street Washington are ongoing but director Sarah Sadrakula has a positive outlook. Sadrakula tells KCII News that over $13,000 of the $20,000 goal has been raised so far.

Earlier this month she explained the need for the fundraising efforts arose when it became clear that only half of what they’d expected in donations and pledges from area businesses came in, when they normally receive $35,000 to $40,000.

Monday, Sadrakula said the future of Main Street is looking really positive and she says they’re now at a place where they’ll be able to continue operations through the end of the year. She added the board has decided to overhaul their fundraising system during their summer board retreat to simplify and streamline the process.
