The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team opened the season Tuesday night with a trip to Clear Creek Amana, falling in their season opener 4-0.

Not only was this the first game of 2016 for the Golden Hawks it was the first game for first year head coach Reid Kaalberg. The Clippers entered the season ranked No. 15 in class 2A. The Clippers got out to a fast start, scoring three times in the first half to take a 3-0 a lead into the break.

The Golden Hawks stiffened defensively, allowing just one more Clipper tally to reach the final score. With the loss the Mid-Prairie girls are now 0-1 on the season and will next be in action Tuesday when they travel to rival Washington.
