Main Street Washington is in a fundraising emergency and is zeroing on it’s goal of raising $20,000. Sarah Sadrakula, director of the non-profit, tells KCII News they have raised over $13,000 as of the end of the day Thursday. Over $2,000 of that has been raised by Washington student Zoe Kane with her #20forMSW campaign.
Sadrakula explains they had poor response from their fundraising in the fall with only about half of what they’d expected from area businesses and donations coming in. Usually Main Street Washington receives $35,000 to $40,000 in pledges from area businesses but this year they received about half of that.
The non-profit’s goal is to be at $20,000 by the end of the day today. A crowd-funding website has been set up for donations, click here to visit it.
