The community of Lone Tree is continuing talks of bringing a state of the art Wellness Center to town. Lone Tree Community Schools superintendent Michael Reeves states a mixture of school and community needs helped move the discussions for the facility forward. The proposed features for the Lone Tree Wellness Center includes a new gym floor, an indoor track, multiple exercise rooms and a public weight area. Reeves adds the proposed facility would be just north of the school and estimates the price tag for the project to be upwards of $3 millon.
The organization has created a 12-person task force consisting of members of the Lone Tree City Council, the Lone Tree School Board, and interested community representatives. The group has fundraised $500,000 for the project. Reeves says the task force is discussing bringing a $2 or $2.5 million bond issue for community approval this September.
