The Keota School Board is closing in on replacing its current superintendent sharing agreement with Mid-Prairie. Board President Billie Kindred informed the board that there are four school districts interested in sharing a superintendent with Keota. Tri-County, WACO, Pekin and Belle Plaine were listed as districts who have interest in sharing. Kindred says the next step is working through specifics of what sharing would mean to each district.

The current superintendent sharing agreement with Mid-Prairie was voted down by the Keota School Board in December. The board cited concern of the possibility of one day having to consolidate with Mid-Prairie. The board would like to share a superintendent with a district which doesn’t border Keota to ensure there is not such a conflict.
