Iowa Mennonite School traveled to Letts for a Superconference double header with the Lousia-Muscatine Falcons on Tuesday night.

It was L-M that scored the win in both games. In the girls contest the Falcons held down IMS for the 45-15 win. Iowa Mennonite trailed 8-6 after the first quarter but the L-M defense dug in from that point on allowing just seven total points including holding IMS without a field goal for a stretch of 10 straight minutes during portions of the second and third quarters. Iowa Mennonite was led on the night by Suzanna Yoder with eight points. With the loss IMS falls to 0-15 on the year.

In the boys contest IMS fell to L-M 60-53. The Falcons held a 12-9 lead after the first quarter and went on a run in the second quarter to take a 33-23 lead into the halftime break. The Falcons would extend that lead to as many as 12 in the second half. IMS put together a run late, outscoring Louisa-Muscatine 17-12 in the final frame but it wasn’t enough for the win. In the loss Iowa Mennonite was led by Eli Gingerich with 14 points, Mitchell Schmeider had 11. IMS is now 9-7 on the year.
