The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team fell to the Monticello Panthers Friday night in Wellman 63-37.

Mid-Prairie held a lead of 11-9 early in the second quarter but Monticello put together an 8-0 run to take a lead they would not relinquish. The Panthers led 21-14 at the half following a three pointer at the buzzer from Mid-Prairie’s Ryan Cortum. Monticello started the second half on a 9-2 run to extend their lead to 14 and did not look back from there, stretching it to as many as 29 in the second half.

Mid-Prairie was led on the night by Nathan Reed and Nolan Faselt who each finished with eight points. With the loss Mid-Prairie falls to 0-14 overall and 0-13 in the River Valley Conference.
