The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team traveled to North Cedar on Thursday night and scored two River Valley Conference dual wins, knocking off the Knights and Bellevue.
The Golden Hawks opened the evening with Bellevue, topping the Comets 48-16. Due to the number of open weights there were only five contested matches in the entire dual. Mid-Prairie scored a win in one contested match with Duncan McCain getting the fall at 120lbs.
In the nightcap Mid-Prairie beat the Knights on their home mat 57-15. In the match of the night, Cameron Tolander outlasted his opponent at 182lbs, winning 3-2 in sudden victory with an escape. Mid-Prairie collected pins from Jason Tew at 170lbs, Visouth Peterschmidt at 195, Levi Duwa at 220, David Murray at 132, Elijah Sir-Louis at 145 and Brent Foster at 152.
Mid-Prairie is now 6-1 overall on the year and 4-0 in the River Valley Conference.
