Recent Iowa Mennonite School graduate Renee Buckwalter has continued her cross country career at the collegiate level during her freshman season at Hesston College.

Hesston wrapped up their season on October 31st, participating in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region VI Championship meet. The Larks finished in seventh place as a team, out of 16 participating. That finish is the highest recorded in school history. All six of the programs that placed ahead of the Larks were ranked in the top 25 national polls this season.

The Larks were led at the event by Hannah Heidebrecht who placed 13th out 96 participants with a time of 20:31. Buckwalter took 25th overall with her time of 21:13. Other finishers for Hesston included Becky Jensen 46th, Madison Rickabaugh 53rd and Eva Dwyer 81st.
