Fairfield is expected to see a housing development expand in the near future. Martin Brett, a developer for Vastu Partners, is looking to begin phase five of the North Campus Village housing development. The project started in 2002 and this phase would be the largest one.
It will create 45 new units with a mixture of single family, duplexes, triplexes and multi-family dwellings. This project will cost roughly $5million.
The developer has grants lined up through the work force housing tax incentives and is working with the city through a TIF policy. Construction on a few houses is set to begin this year, but the full phase five construction will begin in the spring. The project is expected to take about three years.
