Veteran’s Day will be observed tomorrow. All Hy-Vee stores will host their annual breakfast for veterans and active-duty military members by providing a complimentary meal. The company expects to serve more than 80,000 veterans, military members and their guests across eight states. Also, a dinner will be held for veterans and their families at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington.

The Veterans Liberty Center will have it’s doors open, organizer Larry Dingman explains there will be historic army equipment on display and there will be flu shots available for veterans. The non-profit first opened in October and aims to help area veterans and their families with social activities, educational programs and counseling services. The center will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and is located on South Riverside Drive in Iowa City.
