Wheelchairs, shower benches and other medical equipment will be collected in Washington Thursday. Easter Seals Iowa is holding a durable medical equipment drive in Washington from 4 to 6 p.m. tomorrow. The organization then loans out the medical equipment to individuals with disabilities to support independence. Easter Seals Iowa served nearly 3,000 people last year.

Other items accepted include grab bars, toilet safety rails and Hoyer lifts. The donations are tax deductible. The drive is at the United Presbyterian Home on East Washington Street.
