The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country teams traveled to Monticello Thursday night for the annual River Valley Conference meet.

The #4 in class 2A Mid-Prairie boys team finished second in the 13 team field with their score of 66 points. #1 in class 2A Monticello took the conference title with 38 points. Top Golden Hawk finished was Peyton Miller taking seventh place with a time of 17:41. Other Mid-Prairie finishers included Luke Sigler 11th, Floyd Evans 19th, Andrew Schwartz 21st, Brent Foster 27th, and Marshal Teets 29th.

On the girls side of the event the #7 in class 2A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks finished third place with their score of 115 points. #1 in class 2A Monticello took the conference title with their score of 42 points, Cascade was second with 54 points. Top Golden Hawk finisher for the girls was Anna Hostetler with her time of 20:57, taking 15th place. Other Mid-Prairie finishers included Maddi Zahradnek in 21st, Hannah Van Roekel 22nd, Greta Schmidt 23rd, Kessa Jones 34th, Kate Cavanagh 52 and Sophia Norman 61st. Next up for the Golden Hawk cross country teams is the state qualifying meet on Thursday, October 22nd at Cedar Crest Country Club in Columbus Junction.
