The Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team is set for a stiff test tonight when they travel to Wapello.

The Wolves enter tonight’s game trying to build momentum for regionals, with a 17-14 overall record, winners of nine of their last 12 matches. The Wolves are led on the season by Pearl Krieger-Coble with 177 kills, fourth best in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Caitlin Jamison has 415 assists for the year third best in the league and the Wolves defense has three players in the top five of the conference in digs led by Cassidy Lennie at number three with 274, Sophie Kongable at number four with 273 and Lauren Jamison and number five with 265.

Wapello enters play with an overall record of 16-8. The Arrows have won eight of their last 12 matches. On the year Wapello is led by Miriah Mitchell with 141 kills, seventh best in conference play. Addison Lolling leads the Arrows in assists with 360, fourth best in league play and Karley Carey leads Wapello with 124 digs.

The Arrows and the Wolves have already met once this year, on September 26th in the championship rounds of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament at Southeast Community College, a match Winfield-Mt. Union won in three games by scores of 21-12, 17-21 and 21-19. The Wolves were led in that match by Ashley Kruse with six kills, Caitlin Jamison with 14 assists and Sophie Kongable with eight digs. The Arrows got 11 kills from Mattie Smith, 22 assists from Addison Lolling and five digs from Karley Carey. Action begins tonight at 7:30 at Wapello High School.
