A three-time cancer survivor is running across Iowa by running a marathon 10 consecutive days, ending day one in Washington. Scott Mills is running for “Run It Forward” to raise cancer awareness and funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Dani Kane, assistant director of the Washington Chamber of Commerce, is encouraging local people to get involved by lining the road way, putting out yard signs, or running alongside him. Those who would like to run are encouraged to sign up through the Washington YMCA.

He is starting in Muscatine on Saturday morning and ending in Washington for the evening. The campaign will end September 7th in Council Bluffs. For more information about Run it Forward, including maps of each day, click here.
