A duo working to preserve old-time country music is performing for benefit of the Mills Seed Company Building in Washington this weekend. Terry Philips who is working on the revitalization of the building explains Bob and Sheila Everhart of Anita, Iowa, will be performing old-time country music on guitar, upright bass, and harmonica. The Everharts are working with the Smithsonian Institution to preserve the history of this music, including songs like The Battle of New Orleans.

Philips shares the Everharts will begin playing at 2:30 p.m. and there will be some music by other artists in the hour leading up to it and tours of the building will be offered. The concert is a free will donation with proceeds going to the building project. People are asked to bring a lawn chair and join the event at 212 North Iowa Sunday afternoon.
