The small Washington County community of Richmond is turning 175 years old this year. To celebrate the dodransbicentennial, residents formed a committee and organized Richmond’s 175th Celebration, which is being held Saturday.
The history of the town will be one of the event’s main focuses, while entertainment in the form of live music and activities for children will be another. In the months leading up to the celebration, the community came together to organize the event, finance it and spruce up the city. According to Tom Duwa, member of the organizing committee, residents donated time and money to give Richmond Park a facelift by painting swing sets, benches and buildings.
