Another improved season came to an end for the No.9 Wapello Arrows softball team (24-7 overall) Friday evening. The Arrows were paired in the Class 2A Region 6 semifinals against the Iowa City Regina Regals (22-14 overall). The battle went into extra innings with Iowa City Regina prevailing 4-3 in 10 innings.

Two seniors made impacts in their final game in an Arrow uniform. Allison Klenk pitched all 10 innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on 10 hits, walking eight and striking out five batters. Ashley Hahnbaum went one for two at the plate with a home run, two runs batted in, and scored two runs in the setback.

Wapello’s season comes to an end at 24-7 overall record, two more wins than the previous season.
