Three KCII area softball teams have been put in the same Class 1A postseason bracket. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) has released their regional brackets for every class in the state and the Keota Eagles (1-14), Winfield-Mount Union Wolves (3-14) and Sigourney Savages (19-7) will find themselves competing in the same bracket.

The Eagles are among the 10 teams faced with a first round matchup in the Class 1A Region 5 bracket, hosting the Harmony Rockets (0-11) in Keota on July 6. The winner advances to the regional quarterfinal versus the No. 5 New London Tigers (19-1) on July 8 in Eldon.

The Wolves also have a first round game, traveling to Keosauqua to face the Van Buren Warriors (6-8). The winner advances to play the Cardinal Comets (6-19) on July 8 in Eldon.

Sigourney is the only team from the KCII listening area to receive a first round bye in the regional tournament. The Savages await the winner of Tri County (5-9) vs. Moulten-Udell (3-9), and will play the game in Sigourney on July 8. Sigourney defeated Tri County 6-1 at home on June 10, and the Savages are scheduled to play the Trojans again on July 2. Sigourney and Moulten-Udell have not met on the diamond this season.

The other teams a part of the Region 5 bracket include North Mahaska (8-9), Twin Cedars (6-9), Moravia (5-3), and Seymour (7-7).
