A Washington teenager has been competing in cycling events all across the Midwest over the past month and a half. Sixteen year old Alijah Beatty has been entered 18 different contests since the start of May, posting a top five finish in a third of those races.

Beatty spent last weekend in Galena, Illinois, entering three different races in the Tour of Galena Omnium Stage Race. Her best finish came during Saturday’s road race, crossing the finish line in seventh place out of the 17 cyclist field. She came in eighth in her time trial and took 11th place in the circuit course race.

Beatty posted a trio of top 10 finishes during the Tour of Kansas City May 29- 31. She posted a fourth place finish in Kansas City’s Criteium Race, a sixth place finish in the time trials, and ninth in the circuit race.

The teenager will take the weekend off before heading to Lake Tahoe, California for the National Championships. Beatty is set compete in the of road race, time trial, and criterium next weekend.
