As temperatures warm up and summer gets underway, Danielle Pettit-Majewski, director of Washington County Public Health, reminds people to wear sunscreen. She says all skin types should use sunscreen and it is recommended to use an SPF of at least 15, but not much higher because it creates a false sense of security. SPF stands for sun protection factor.
Sunscreen should be reapplied at least every two hours. Also, she says it is better to put bug spray on after sunscreen. For the full interview with Pettit-Majewski listen to today’s Washington Page.
