The Columbus Community boys’ baseball team (0-1) will have their first test on road this season as they travel to Pekin (1-0) to take on the Panthers tonight.
The Wildcats started out on a sour note losing their opening game to the Winfield Mt. Union Wolves 17-3. Bright spots in the Wildcats’ last game came from freshman Able Mena who stole five bases and had two hits.
Columbus only recorded four hits against W-MU and gave up 15 hits.
Pekin is coming off of a close victory at Mediapolis against the Bulldogs, 3-2.
Tonight’s game will take place at 7 p.m. at the Pekin High School.
