The postseason for the Columbus Wildcats boys’ soccer team (7-6 overall) continues tomorrow. The Wildcats opened up the Class 1A Substate 5 soccer tournament in Mediapolis Tuesday evening against the Bulldogs. The Wildcats scored posted their second best offensive performance of the season, defeating the Bulldogs 7-1.

Columbus improves their overall record to 7-6 and advances into the semifinals of the substate tournament against the Holy Trinity Crusaders (12-5 overall). The Crusaders defeated the Wildcats 2-0 in their only meeting of the season on April 28th.

Last season, the Wildcats made it to the first round of the Class 1A state soccer tournament, losing 3-0 to Beckman, Dryersville

The Class 1A Substate 5 semifinal game kicks off tomorrow at 7 p.m.in Fort Madison.
