Several people are recovering from a multi-vehicle crash on 1-80. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the accident near Williamsburg at around 4 p.m. Friday.
According to the state patrol, traffic in the westbound lane was slowed due to a different accident when a semi rear ended an SUV, causing a chain reaction crash with three other vehicles, including a tour bus carrying 27 passengers. Thirty-two people were transported from the scene via ambulance and a helicopter to area hospitals.
Muscatine, Des Moines and Boone residents, as well as individuals from Indiana and Oregon, were involved in the accident.
