The offensive woes continued for the Washington Demon girls’ soccer team (0-5) on a windy Tuesday afternoon. The Demons ended their two game Southeast Conference homestand hosting the No. 10 Keokuk Chiefs (5-0). The Chiefs held the Demons off the scoreboard, winning the conference battle 6-0.
Winds constantly howled over 20 miles per hour during the entire game.
Keokuk was paced in scoring by juniors Brittany Love and Brooke Wade. The duo scored two goals each in the victory. The Chiefs have outscored their opponents 31-1 this season.
Washington’s scoreless streak has been pushed to five halves of soccer. The last Demon goal came in the first half of Washington’s 6-1 loss to the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks. The goal was scored by junior Stacy Ramirez. Washington has been outscored 12-0 against Southeast Conference opponents and 23-1 in home matches this season.
The Washington girls’ soccer team returns to Southeast Conference action on Thursday traveling to Fort Madison High School. The varsity game with the Bloodhounds begins at 5:30 p.m.
