Financial assistance is being provided to some producers in the agriculture sector. The Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency announced this week that nearly 2,700 applicants will begin receiving disaster assistance through the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-raised Fish Program for losses experienced between October 2013 and September of 2014.
The program, which was reauthorized by the 2014 Farm Bill, provides disaster relief to producers who experienced losses caused by events such as excessive heat, flooding, blizzards and hail.
