The KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to a severe thunderstorm warning Tuesday night. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Washington, Jefferson and Keokuk counties at about 10:45 p.m. and expired approximately half an hour later.
Hail up to one inch in diameter and winds up to 50 miles per hour were part of the warning.
A second warning was issued for Henry and Louisa counties. Nickel sized hail was reported in Mt. Pleasant.
Four members of the KCII team responded and brought information first, fast and accurately. Personnel was on standby to use back up generators if the power went out, so that staff could continue to get the storm warning information out.
Listen to KCII for weather updates.
