The Leadership Washington class learned about agriculture in the area during their monthly meeting yesterday. The group visited the Washington County Extension office, learned about turkeys, swine, beef and sheep, and heard from Aaron Putze of the Iowa Soybean Association, as well as Bob Shepherd of the Washington Farmer’s Market. The group also visited the Gallagher family farm.
Leadership Washington is a nine-session program offered through the Chamber of Commerce with the goal of educating area current and future leaders about different facets of the community.
