It was a year to remember for the WACO girls’ basketball team which finished with a 16-8 record and make it all the way to sectionals.

All five starters were awarded for their accomplishments this year by being named to the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North all conference team .

Senior Aaliyah Brown was named first team all conference. Brown led the team with 261 total points and averaged 12.4 points per game. She also led the team in blocks with 12.

Seniors Jennie Greene and Ericka Leichty were named second team all conference. Greene was the Warriors best free-throw shooter at 68.2 percent and led the team in assists with 44 total. Leichty led the Warriors in field goal percentage at 45.9 percent and was their best rebounder with 140 total rebounds,.

Also seniors Jalyssa Jepson and Gaby Wagler were named honorable mentions.

Jepson was WACO’s best three-point shooter, shooting 24.7 percent from three-point range. Wagler was second in rebounds with 124.
