Mid-Prairie School District is preparing for another bond issue. Superintendent Mark Schneider said at this week’s school board meeting that there would be an additional bond issue of $640,000. The district’s options will be presented at the board’s next meeting later this month.
In April of last year, voters approved a $10,640,000 bond issue. A few months later, $10 million worth of bonds were sold.
The school board recently selected contractors for work at the Middle School in Kalona being made possible by the sale. A spring start is expected for the installation of a geothermal system and addition for the Home School Assistance program.
