Iowa’s unemployment rate fell from 4.3 percent in November to 4.1 percent in December. In Washington County, it rose half of a percent from 2.9 percent in November to 3.4 percent in December. In December, 400 people were unemployed in Washington County. Other counties in the area that experienced increases in unemployment include Henry, Iowa, Johnson, Keokuk and Louisa counties.
