A growing number of bed bug reports are coming into the Washington County Environmental Department’s office. Director of the department, Jennine Wolf explains the pests do not carry diseases but are expensive to exterminate. She says people can get them anywhere from theater seats to hanging their coat next to a coat that has bed bugs on it. Wolf adds bed bugs impact people of various income levels.

Wolf’s goal is to educate the public. A public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office on February 4th. For more information about bed bugs listen to today’s Washington Page.
