From fields to tables, Jan Swinton with the Southeast Iowa Food Hub gave a presentation at the recent Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. The Food Hub is based in Fairfield and helps get local food producers distribute their food to area entities, including hospitals and colleges. Swinton explained they help deliver the food from the farmers to the customers and often work with beginning farmers. Ed Raber, Director of Washington Economic Development Group, added Washington County has a role to play.
