A wind chill warning is in effect until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday. The warning is in effect for all of the KCII listening area and wind chill readings are as low as 35 degrees below zero according to the National Weather Service. Also, winds are gusting up to 35 miles per hour, which is causing drifting and patchy blowing of snow today, especially in rural, open areas.
With these low temperatures, frostbite on exposed skin can happen in less than 15 minutes.
Yesterday the high was 10 degrees and the low was six degrees below zero. Monday night into Tuesdsay morning, 5.5 inches of snow fell in Washington.
