A total of 5.5 inches of snow fell in Washington yesterday and early this morning. Washington County authorities responded to at least six vehicle accidents last night.

Due to the winter storm, the City of Washington has issued a snow emergency. With the snow emergency, persons should not park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley or city-owned or leased off-street parking area unless the snow has been removed or plowed from said area. An additional release will be issued when the snow emergency has been lifted.
