Four candidates for the Washington Community School District superintendent position of the nearly 30 applications received have been selected for interviews. The four candidates will take part in confidential interviews next week. Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen states an announcement will be made at the January 14th school board meeting as to who is selected as finalists. The tentative plan is then to have the two finalists will be brought back for interviews later in the month. Interviews will be conducted by a group made up of school board members, staff members, community members, parents and others.
This fall, Jorgensen announced his plan to retire at the end of the school year.
