The Mid-Prairie girls’ basketball team will be starting the second half of the basketball season tonight looking to end their two-game losing streak. The Golden Hawks (4-4) are hosting Durant (5-3).
Last year, Durant and Mid-Prairie split their series. The Lady Hawks average 43.3 points per game while the Wildcats average 50.6 points.
Mid-Prairie’s senior Taylor Kurtz leads the team average in points per game with 9.6 and rebounds with 5.8. Kurtz has 77 points so far this season, while Ali Riggan has 55 and Alex Rath has 50. Mid-Prairie will have trouble keying on just one person, Durant has three players that average in double figures each game. The game will take place tonight at 6 p.m. in Wellman.
