For the first time this season, the Washington Demon boys’ (1-3 overall) face off against a Southeast Conference opponent, traveling to Keokuk for a battle with the Chiefs (3-1 overall; 2-0 conference).
Since their opening win of the season against the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks, Washington has lost three straight contests including the first two home games of the year. The last setback came Tuesday evening against the Oskaloosa Indians, who surprised Washington with a 67-57 victory. The Demon starting five (Gage Redlinger, Dayrn Sebelius, Thomas Bump, Derick Anding, Blake Weidmann) have scored all but one point during the losing streak and have scored all but three points all season.
The Keokuk Chiefs are off to a quick start, winning three of their first four games including two conference battles. The Chiefs are led in most statistical categories by all-conference player Jonny Dahl. Dahl leads the Chiefs in points per game (19.3), rebounds per game (8.3), field goals made (26), three-point field goals made (7), assists (23), and steals (11).
