The annual PAWS and More Holiday Open House will be held this weekend. Director of the shelter Amber Talbot explains the event is a chance to support the homeless animals as there will be animal-related gift baskets for purchase and other gifts, as well as reduced adoption fees for some of the cats. The money raised will be used for operating costs for the shelter including veterinary care.
She adds the open house is a good time for families to visit if they are considering getting a pet as a holiday gift. When considering adopting a pet Talbot reminds people to keep in mind the time and resources it takes to take care of a pet. The open house will be held Sunday (12/14) from noon to 4 p.m.
Also, at this time the shelter’s wish list includes dog leashes and collars, laundry detergent, paper towels, postage stamps, old bath towels or blankets, and more.
