The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ basketball team frequently visited the free throw line Friday evening .IMS played in their second straight road game, traveling to Wayland for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference battle with the WACO Warriors.
IMS attempted 31 foul shots, making 21 of them, on their way to a 70-62 victory over WACO.
IMS was led in scoring by junior guard Eli Gingerich. Gingerich has 21 points, his second straight 20 point performance to start the season. He was 13-14 from the free throw line, including going 5-5 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
WACO was led by senior guard Braden Blake, who scored 26 points before fouling out in the final minute of the game. Blake was 9-12 from the free throw line in the setback.
IMS improves to 2-0 with the victory. They return to the court Tuesday evening at Hillcrest Union for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference contest with the Highland Huskies.
