The trees are decorated, the stockings hung and lights are up for tonight’s annual Candlelight Tour of Homes in Washington. Each year the Washington Chamber of Commerce holds the event to showcase the holidays locally. This year five homes and the round barn at the Washington County Fairgrounds are open for touring. Director of the Chamber, Michelle Redlinger, explains there is a variety of homes on the tour from an early 1900’s American Foursquare to homes built in the last three decades with recent renovations. Also, the round barn will be decorated by the fair board and 4-H members.
The event raises funds for the white lights which outline the buildings in downtown Washington. The tour is today from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door and there is a shuttle option for transportation. For more information listen to the Thursday and Friday Washington Pages with Redlinger.
