The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks had a successful start to their wrestling season Tuesday evening in English Valleys. The Golden Hawks traveled to participate in duals against the Bears, the Eddyville-Blakesburg Rockets, and the Wapello Indians.

Against the host Bears, Mid-Prairie scored five falls, a decision, and two forfeits in a 54-27 victory over English Valleys. Mid-Prairie’s wrestlers who recorded six points include: Levi Duwa, Josh Murphy, Blake Murphy, Zach Axmear, and Visouth Peterschmidt.

In their matchup with Wapello, Mid-Prairie collected  three falls, a major decision, a decision and three forfeits in a 43-30 win over the Indians. Wrestlers recording six points include: Josh Murphy (fall), Ducan Cain (major decision 10-2), Peterschmidt (fall), Cameron Tolander (forfeit), Scott Winborn (forfeit), and Duwa (forfeit).

Against Eddyville-Blakesburg, Mid-Prairie only scored one fall, a major decision, a decision, and two forfeit in a 42-25 loss to the Rockets. Mid-Prairie wrestlers scoring points against Eddyville-Blakesburg include: Levi Duwa (Fall), Logan Hempsted (Forfeit), Cain (Major Decision 10-1), Eli Stuckley (forfeit), and Toelander (decision 1-0).

Mid-Prairie’s wrestlers return to the mat in Tipton Thursday evening in a meet with the Tigers starting at 6 p.m.
