A Christmas tree over three stories tall will be decorated in Riverside today. The tree is located at the corner of Washburn Street and Highway 22. According to president of the Riverside Area Community Club, Mike Meinders, the tree is 35 to 40 feet tall and 30 feet in diameter. To get the lights on and the star adorned to the top of the tree, a boom truck is being brought in. Meinders says the tree was planted by Betty Kerchner in memory of her late husband, Don. A plaque will be installed next to the tree to commemorate her donation.
