Nearly all of Southeast Iowa’s soybeans have been harvested with 91 percent of the crop out of the fields. According to the Iowa Soybean Association, soybean prices were projected to slip to $8.50 per bushel prior to harvest. However, According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates report the nation’s soybean crop was at nearly 3.96 billion bushels, 31 million bushels higher than the October forecast. Iowa’s soybean harvest is estimated at approximately 514.3 million bushels, up more than 10 million bushels from last month. Iowa is responsible for one-third of the national production increase, according ot the USDA’s Crop Production Report. And the U.S. season-average projected price is between $9 and $11 per bushel.
